Let’s Break Stories Together

Most articles about sanctions are wrong

Not because of carelessness or lack of effort, but because the data produced by governments is unstructured and riddled with errors, difficult to find and difficult to use. No wonder that drawing conclusions from it is so hard.

The good news is that Castellum.AI solved this problem and has two user friendly ways to analyze the data: a search interface and a structured spreadsheet. Additionally, as a public benefit corporation, we provide this data to media and researchers for free.

How we work with press and researchers

We love working with press and researchers and are grateful for your trust in us. Here is a process we’ve developed to make things run smoothly.

  1. Examine our data through our free online platform or free bulk download.

  2. Review our Knowledge Base and Insights to get a sense of our coverage, and how our data supports research, analysis, and visualizations.

  3. A note of caution, most people think about sanctions as “US sanctions North Korea,” but sanctions are usually “US sanctions a Russian citizen located in China for procuring ballistic missiles on behalf of North Korea."

  4. Decide whether you need an online platform account or a bulk data file.

  5. If your work can be done entirely in the Investigator Platform or using our free bulk data files, excellent! This is our preferred option, you will have free access to tens of thousands of enriched compliance records.

  6. We require our data be cited, or that Castellum.AI be listed as a co-author.

Custom Requests

If you need a larger data set, time series, or anything customized, that will be a paid request. Please secure a budget, specify your data need and we will quickly provide you what you need.
